*Obituary

William J. “Bill” Glenn, 74, of Jonesboro, formerly of Greenbrier, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Bill was born in Greenbrier and lived much of his life there before moving to Jonesboro in 2001. Bill worked several years for International Shoe Company in Conway and was retired from the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office.

Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge 290 in Greenbrier and the Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro where he was a member of the Coed 4 Sunday school class. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was preceded in death by his parents, George and Olga Martin Glenn.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Howell Glenn of the home; and a brother, Martin Glenn of Lufkin, Texas.

Funeral services will be held today at 4:30 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Dr. Stan Ballard and Dr. Kenneth Threet officiating. Entombment will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Crestlawn Cemetery at Conway with Don Betts officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today from 1-3 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

A visitation will be held Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Pallbearers include: Tim Carter, Stan McMillan, Tommy Simmons, David Halfacre, Randy Garrett and Eddie Joe Barker.
