John was born on Wednesday, March 29, 1944 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Ira Zadock Hackler Sr., and Lucy Edith Wise Hackler.
John went to school at Liberty until the 7th grade and graduated from Vilonia High School. He had a CPA license and Accounting Degree, Business Degree and had his Real Estate license.
He was the Terminal manager of Garrison Motor Freight, owned and operated Hackler Cartage/Razorback Express and worked as a rural United States Postal carrier.
He was a member of the Vilonia Saddle and Wagon Club, was the commissioner and President of the Vilonia girls Softball program and attended the Conway Cowboy Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marnette L. Hackler; and four half-sisters, Carolyn Ray, Barbara Fricke, Alma Tallman, and Olive Goss, and one half-brother, George F. Hackler.
He is survived by his four daughters, Rachel Gillespie (Michael) of Quitman, Heather Crowder (Blake) of Mt. Vernon, Gretchen Hackler of Conway, Sarah R. Parker (Seth) of Conway; five grandchildren, Hope L. Crowder, Haleigh N. Crowder, Chase Michael Ira Gillespie, Sawyer W. Parker, Sadie R. Parker; two half-sisters, Wanda Hamilton Long of Rogersville, Tenn., and Betty Hackler Stewart of Texas, two brothers, James Oliver Hackler (Jewel) of Enola, Paul Hackler (Marsha) of Enola, a very special nephew, Warren Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marnette L. "Marty" Hackler, 56, of Conway, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004, at her home.

She was born February 23, 1948 in Hot Springs to the late Graydon Bruce Eckard and Willa Lee Coffman Eckard.

Mrs. Hackler was a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs and obtained her associate degree from Draughn's School of Business. She worked for the State Revenue Department for 10 years and then worked as a Rural mail carrier for 26 ½ years at the Conway Post Office. She was a member of the Rural Letter Carrier Union, the Vilonia Saddle and Wagon Club, and helped organize the Vilonia girl's softball program. She was a member of the Sunny Gap Baptist Church and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and employee.

Survivors include her husband, Ira Z. "John" Hackler, Jr.; four daughters, Rachel D. Hackler, Heather L. Crowder, Gretchen R. Hackler, and Sarah R. Hackler, all of Conway; and two granddaughters, Hope L. Crowder and Haleigh N. Crowder.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway with Bro. John Harrington officiating. Entombment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation is Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jayson Stell, Darrell Eckard, Brad Hamilton, Blake Crowder, Scott Harrington, and Warren Simmons.
