OBITUARY:
Joseph Lee Howell, Jr., 87 of Conway, died Friday, March 21, 2014. Junior was born in 1926 in a covered wagon between Oklahoma and Arkansas. He married Ruth Bane Howell in 1948, and lived near Conway all of his life. He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ. Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Minnie Bell (Morton) Howell and siblings Hazel Myrick, Eunice Vegors, Opal Hutchins, and Orville Howell.
Junior is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth; children Karen Stephens, David Howell, Teresa Brainard, and Gina Qualls; siblings Joseph Donald Howell and Peggy Howell Hazel; grandchildren Bryan Beene, Tasha Roberts, Robin Abels, Rebekah Bittle, Brittney Smith, Jamie Smith, Jordan Brainard, Jacob Brainard, Hannah Qualls, Josh Qualls; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
SERVICES:
Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday, March 24, 2014 at Liberty Church of Christ, Hwy. 64, Conway. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the church, with Charles Bane officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
