Maxine F. Fones, 83, of Rogers died Friday, March 31, 1995, at her home.
Born Feb. 13, 1912, in Peru, Kan., a daughter of John Allen and Sadie Crockett Fleming, she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Rogers, was instrumental in opening the Rogers Youth Center, a recipient of the Honorary Service Award for Parents-Teachers Association, a Girl Scout leader in Rogers, a members of the Panhellenic Society, League of Women Voters and Rogers Library Board, of which she was a past secretary. She was a 1932 Kansas State University graduate.
Survivors are a son, Scott F. Fones of Camp Hill, Pa.; two daughters, Rosemary F. Walczak of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Katherine F. Bond of Augusta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Rogers with Father Allen Bates officiating. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers.
