BENTONVILLE — Hugh Allen Fouts, 60, of Route 1, Lowell died Thursday en route to Bates Memorial Hospital. He was born March 20, 1905 at Spring Creek and was a farmer and poultry man.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ellie Hartman Fouts of the home; one son, James Elmer of Lowell; one brother, Harvey of Salina, Okla.; five sisters, Mrs. Selah Ritter of Lowell, Mrs. Bertha Barnes, Mrs. Sarah Barnes, Mrs. Flora Barnes all of Jay, Okla. and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Tulsa and four grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burns Chapel with burial in Rogers Cemetery.

Mrs. Mellie Leola Fouts, 68, of 805 NW 7th St., Bentonville, died Wednesday evening at
at Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1906, in Cave Springs, she was a lifelong resident of Benton County. Her family was one of the first to settle in this area. She was the daughter of Elmer Thomas and Effie Barnes Hartman, of the Evening Star community near Cave Springs, and she was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Cave Springs.

Survivors include her son, James Elmer Fouts, of Bentonville; two sisters, Vena Hartman and Nell Hartman, both of Bentonville; a brother, George E. Hartman, Bentonville; four grandchildren and a great grandson.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Burns Funeral Chapel, Bentonville, conducted by the Rev. Larry Lewis, with burial in Roger Cemetery.

Mrs. Mellie L. Fouts, 68, 805 NW Seventh St., Bentonville, died June 18 in Bates Memorial Hospital, Bentonville. Born Aug. 30, 1906, at Cave Springs, she was the daughter of Elmer Thomas and Essie Mable Barnes Hartman, the widow of Hugh Allen Fouts, who died in 1965, and a member of the Apostolic Faith Church.

Survivors include one son, James Elmer Fouts, Bentonville; two sisters, Miss Lavena Hartman and Miss Nell Hartman, Bentonville; one brother, George E. Hartman, Bentonville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Burns Funeral Home, Bentonville, with the Rev. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Burns.
