Raymond Green Brinkley, 77, of Decatur, died Friday, April 28, 1995, at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 9, 1917, at Hill Creek, Okla., the son of Buck Raymond and Ellen Barnett Brinkley, he was a farmer and a member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors are his wife, Dolores Brinkley of Decatur; two sons, Raymond Irl Brinkley and Richard Clinton Brinkley, both of Decatur; two daughters, Ruby Gail Backer of Decatur and Ellen Louise Wilmoth of Van Meter, Iowa; two brothers, J.E. Monk of Centerton and Gerald Dean Brinkley of Decatur; two sisters, Lorene Swaringin and Irene Sparkman, both of Roswell, N.M.; and 11 grandchildren.
Service is at 10 a.m, Tuesday at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bolger and the Rev. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial is at Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home. Visitation is at the church Tuesday morning prior to the service.
