FAYETTEVILLE — Karen Elizabeth Muncy passed away at home on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the age of 60 years. She was born Jan. 16, 1951, in Longview, Texas, to parents Charles Edward Muncy and Barbara June (Gregory) Muncy. She attended school in Kilgore, Texas, and Fayetteville, Ark., before finally earning her degree in Education and Special Education from the University of Arkansas.

She was a childcare provider for the University Baptist Church as well as a longtime member.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Muncy of Fayetteville; sisters, Susan Long of Cambridge, Md., Lee Ann Lawson of Fayetteville and Julie Shackelford of Fayetteville, Ark.; as well as two nieces and three nephews.

Services are Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at 10 a.m. at University Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ark., with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Cemetery. Visitation for Karen is Thursday, Dec. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moore's Chapel, 206 W. Center St., Fayetteville, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University Baptist Church, 333 W. Maple St., Fayetteville, AR 72701.
