Fayetteville Youth Killed In Tulsa Traffic Accident

Philip Alan Fine, 19, of 1986 Greenview Dr., was fatally injured in a motorcycle-car accident in Tulsa Saturday.

Tulsa police said Fine was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a ear driven by Gary Lee Bryan, 22, of Broken Arrow, Okla., when Bryan failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of 71st Street and Lewis Avenue.

Fine was thrown from his cycle and died of a crushed chest, police said.

Born March 22, 1951 in Little Rock, the son of William Delford and Dorothy Steele Fine, he was a sophomore music student at Oral Roberts University where he transferred last September from the University of Arkansas. He had also attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo.

A member of Central Assembly of God Church in Fayetteville, he was considered an accomplished pianist and had won several awards in piano competition.

Prior to the accident he had been at a Tulsa television station taping piano solos for a church program. He was active in Circle K, and was wing chaplain and spiritual life chairman of his dormitory and worked part time at University Village Retirement Center.

Survivors in addition to his parents are the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Donna Steele of Elm Springs and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nealie Fine of West Fork.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens under direction of Moore's Chapel.

Memorials have been established at Trinity United Methodist Church and at Central Assembly of God Church.
