SPRINGDALE — Rhoda Lea Aday went to be with our Lord on Nov. 6, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Walter and Leona Crawford in Harbor City, Calif., on Sept. 1, 1927, she continued to reside in California, where she met and married Robert (R.C.) Aday on March 9, 1949. They remained in California until 1979, before moving to Springdale, Ark.

Rhoda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an active member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale. She was an accomplished violinist and artist at a young age. She worked by her husband's side in their shoe repair business in Redland, Calif.

After many successful years, they relocated to Fayetteville in 1979, opening College Shoe Shop, and operated it until her husband passed away in 1991. She made an amazing impact on all that had the pleasure of knowing her and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her two sons and their families: Kenneth and Pam Aday of Redland, Calif., and Ron and Gina Aday of Prairie Grove, Ark,; a brother, Otis Crawford of Baton Rouge, La.; sister, Candy Pharris of West Point, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and brother, Roy Crawford.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
