Charles E. Ferguson, Sr. Charles E. Ferguson, Sr. of Austin passed away, at home in the early hours, of Sunday, March 27, 2011. Mr. Ferguson joined the U. S. Navy within a month of his eighteenth birthday in 1935. He took great pride in his many years of government service in the U. S. Navy. Charles was an active member of the Retired Officers Association in Austin and had served as president. He had turned 93, recently and had had exceptional health in the past. He was a very sweet person, he will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbye Maxine Ferguson; eldest son, Charles Ferguson, Jr. He is survived by his second wife of 43 years, Yvonne Caddel Ferguson; daughter, Melodie Ferguson; two sons, John F. Ferguson and wife Diana of California, Kirk Ferguson and fiancée Patti Bass; six grandchildren, Michelle Stephens, Matthew Kock, Alexandra Ferguson, Charles Ferguson III, Lori Ferguson, Carol Marie Ferguson; two great- grandchildren, Victoria and Jackson Stephens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Weed-Corley- Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Weed- Corley-Fish Chapel. Graveside service 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
