Obituary
Travis Tucker, 88 of Heber Springs, formerly of Pine Bluff passed away
Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was a Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Mr. Tucker was a World War II Army veteran assigned to Company "C", 19th Armored Infantry Battalion. During the war, Mr. Tucker received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars from action at the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, James Young Tucker Sr. and Mattie Shumake Tucker; two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vernice Pharr Tucker; two sons, Alan Tucker and his wife Judy of Heber Springs, Rodney Tucker and his wife Debby of Little Rock; one daughter, Vicky Mast and her husband Mike of Anderson, South Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Leon Tucker; sister, Louise Granderson Turner; a sister-in-law, Lois Tucker; brother-in-law, Lloyd Thrash; other relatives and many friends.

The family has suggested memorials in Mr. Tucker's honor be made to the Alzheimer Association, 204 Executive Court, Suite 301, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72205.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Heber Springs.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm with interment in the Heber Springs Cemetery.
