Fred May Stone, 73, of Springdale, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Born July 14, 1922, in Haileyville, Okla., he was the son of William Jackson Stone and Mary Eliza Smythe Stone. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He moved to the area in 1979 from Hartshorne, Okla. He was a carpenter with the U. S. Civil Service.
Survivors are his wife, Christine Stone of the home; four daughters, Lily Mary McFee of Springdale, Shirley A. Dugger of Hartshorne, Okla., Frances Jean Case of Altus and Deborah Kay Collum of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, William Nolen Stone of Hartshorne, Okla., and Jimmy Eugene Stone of Meeker, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville with the Rev. Carl Brandt officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.
