Obituary
Wonderful Father, Grandfather, and Husband

Elic was one of six children (5 boys and 1 girl)from Prim Arkansas where he was family with the Helms, Hipps, Stones, and Powell's from what I have been told. He was also of Native American heritage(Cherokee)and was proud to share his history with his family.
Elic was a vet who served in World War II and Korea, and he showed bravery from an early age due to losing both parents before adulthood. He married in the 1950's and had a daughter in 1965 as well as raised his stepdaughter as his own since 1954.
Elic spent 34 years at John Manville a Company based in Waukegan IL and retired in 1981 due to asbestos's, which he contracted at the company.
In 1977, Elic bought land in Hopewell Ark with the plan to go back home and retired there with his family in 1981.
In 1984, he became board with farm life and retirement pay, and went to work for Birdsong Builders in Heber Springs Ark until 1999 when he became ill.
Elic was a upstanding member of his community, he was a long standing member of the American Legion post in Heber Springs and visited the River Ranch from time to time.
Elic was a good husband and provider as well as a fantastic father and grandfather. Per his request, Elic passed away at home the morning of May 5, 2000 due to cirrhosis of the liver. His wife, daughter, and Cousin were with him at his passing. His family and close friends genuinely miss him.
His wife passed away and was laid to rest next to him(2007),His Children, five grandchildren, and 3 great grand children survive Elic.
