Kathleen Seay Burford, daughter of the late Gulley R. Seay and Stella Irene Wayland Seay, was born April 6, 1925 in Pineville, Arkansas. She departed this life October 30, 2014 at her home in Pineville, Arkansas at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 24 days. She was united in marriage to Jack Burford and to this union one daughter was born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, teacher and friend. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education and spent her working years as a grade school teacher. She taught in Kansas, Mississippi and Arkansas. She was of the Presbyterian Faith and was a member of the Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 72 years and 3 months.
She is survived by one brother: Paul Wayne Seay of Guion; one sister: Peggy Seay of Pineville; numerous nieces and nephews; a faithful and loving care giver: Janetta Nichols; a host of other relatives and many good friends and former students. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant daughter: Elizabeth Ann Burford; four brothers: Jack Seay, Glen Seay, Dale Seay and Maurice Seay.
Funeral service will be Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Pineville Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 12 noon at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to: Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Hwy 223, Pineville, AR 72566.
Pallbearers: Mike Seay, Mark Seay, J. W. Fountain, Leon Cheatham, Eric McLaughlin, Junior Hudson. Honorary Pallbearer: Dwight Wayland.
