Gerald Bea “Jerry” Wood, 77, of El Paso, Arkansas died peacefully at home early Thursday morning. Jerry was born April 22, 1937 in El Paso to the late Noble and Opal (Oakley) Wood.

Jerry was a born farmer and spent his life devoted to farming. He also did Over the Road Truck driving and was known as the “sodbuster”, so never straying from his love of the land. He was an incredible man who always instilled the best in his kids in his words and actions.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years Patsy Wood; One son: Gerald Bea “Buddy” Wood, Jr.; and one great-grandson: Karsyn Wood. He is survived by his two children: Kristy Rooney and husband Steve of Guy, Arkansas and Heath Wood of El Paso’ Five Grandchildren: Heather Pierce and husband Daniel, Joey Dobbs, Kayla Wood and Kevin and Brandon Rooney; Great-Grandchildren: Zane, Peyton, Braxton and Autumn Pierce; and four sisters: Judy Moore and husband Don of El Paso, Loretta Akin and husband Buddy of Beebe, Patsy Edwards of Beebe and Lawanda Harvey of Beebe and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services entrusted to Cremations and Funeral Services of Arkansas.
