Charlsie Baldridge Little, 102, died June 30, 2010. Born March 21, 1908 in Pearson to William Emmett Baldridge and Julia Ann Frances Bettis Baldridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William Theodore Baldridge, Wiley Ivens Baldridge, Dr. Max Baldridge, Dr. Harry Kenneth Baldridge, and Jack Bettis Baldridge, husband, James Milton Little, son, James Robert Little, and grandson, Dr. James Aaron Little. Survivors include son, John Barrett Little, daughter-in-law, Barbara (James R.) Little, granddaughter, Lee Ann Potter, grandson, Adam Cooper Little, granddaughters-in-law, Laura ( J. Aaron) Little and Laura (Adam C.) Little, and great-grandchildren, Kellen James Potter, Colby William Little, and Aubrey Savannah Little.
Her career in education spanned almost 40 years as a teacher, supervisor, and principal in Heber Springs, Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA), Arkansas State College (now ASU), Osceola, Crossett, and Conway. Upon retiring in 1973, she returned to Heber Springs where her interest in family history and Cleburne County prompted her to join others in forming the Cleburne County Historical Society and serve as the society's journal editor for many years. Until her health recently prohibited her involvement, she was the area's acknowledged source of information for persons researching their families' roots. She also was an active member of First Baptist Church of Heber Springs until entering a nursing facility in 2002.
Visitation Thursday, 6-8 p.m., Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral service Friday, 10 a.m., First Baptist Church, Heber Springs with interment at Heber Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Cleburne County Historical Society, 210 North Broadway, P.O. Box 794, Heber Springs, Ark. 72543
