SPRINGDALE — William F. "Bill" Poorman, 68, of Springdale died June 11, 2004, at Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Little Rock to William F. and Hazel Gwlynndora Burway James. He was a sales manager at Meeks Lumber Co. and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Fulks Poorman of the home, to whom he was married March 19, 1954; two sons, Wade Poorman of Snow Hill, N.C., Duane Poorman of Lowell; one daughter, Janet Brawner of Paragould; one half brother, John Berkley of Bentonville, his mother Hazel Gwlynndora Berkley of Hulbert, Okla.; four half sisters, Nancy Foster of Hulbert, Mary Sue Eppley of Little Rock, Gwlynnda Mae Irek of Rockwall, Texas, Julie Purdue of Rollard; six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bluff Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Crawford officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

FORREST CITY — Mrs. Shirley Ann Poorman, age 75, of Forrest City, died Wednesday at her home in Forrest City. Her death came sudden and unexpected.

Mrs. Poorman was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Clay County, Ark, and was the daughter of Prentice Fulks and Lerlene Ward Fulks.

She moved back to Forrest City in 2007 from Springdale, Ark., was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Poorman married William F. Poorman in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Brawner of Forrest City; two sons, Wade Poorman of Greenville, N.C., and Duane Poorman of Edmond, Okla.; and six grandchildren, Adam Brawner, Karen Brawner, Tabitha Ann Poorman, Will Poorman, Eli Poorman and Janie Poorman.

Services for Mrs. Poorman will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m., until the time of the service.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, at the Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Ark.
