Dr. Cecil Clyde Blair, 85, Fayetteville, died Jan. 19 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1892, at Conway, he was the son of Franklin and Virginia Condrey Blair, a retired professor and a member of the Baptist Church. He was graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1915 and received his master's degree and doctorate at the University of Chicago. He taught in Chicago public schools for more than 23 years and taught in Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee for 5 1/2 years. He was chairman of the history department. He was a veteran of World War I, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Washington Masonic Lodge 1.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gussie Martin Blair of the home to whom he had been married for 59 years; two sons, Franklin Blair of Fort Smith and John W. Blair of Richardson, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Claire Saunders of Falls Church, Va. and Mrs. Clifford B. (Virginia) Melton of Springdale; three sisters, Mrs. Lois Haughton, Mrs. Faye Daniels and Mrs. Florence Condrey Hallum of Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Moore's.

Services for Dr. Cecil C. Blair, 85, Fayetteville, were at 10 a.m. today in Moore's Chapel with the Rev. Brock Watson officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens under direction of Moore's.

Active pallbearers were Dr. Joel Collins, Terry Coughlin, Jack W. Hall, Joe E. Mahaffey, Ernie Schoenwald and Joe Charles Tweedle.

Honorary pallbearers were W.W. Ramey, Jerome McRoy, A.S. Alexander, Harvey Graham, Ellis Shelton and George Shelton.
