*FLOYD CHURCH

Floyd Cemetery
White County,
Arkansas

This cemetery is located in Section 33, Township 7 North, Range 9 West. This is on Church Road, near the intersection of Highway 305 South and Highway 31. The cemetery is beside the Floyd Assembly of God Church and can be seen from Highway 31. Floyd Cemetery, also known as "Old Floyd" since the New Floyd Cemetery was established, was listed originally in 1966 by the Floyd Extension Homemakers Club. In 1997, researcher Mitzi Hitchcock added 13 Quattlebaum names and three Stracener names to the list. Then this site was re-surveyed April-July 2000 by Shelly and Wyatt Keech and Jerry and Teddy Gaylor Wyatt for the White County Historical Society. All names from the original list 34 years earlier were included, although some of the stones or funeral home markers are now gone. The list was updated again by Leroy Blair of the Historical Society after he and his wife Ellen visited the cemetery May 14, 2001.
