Obituary
Margaret Melton, 83, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008. She was born in Illinois on November 24, 1924 to the late Oliver and Gladys Stout Schneider.
Margaret is survived by her husband Billy G. Melton; son, John D. Haven of New Mexico, daughter, Laura Hannon (Keith) of Colorado; grandchildren, Grant Hannon of Colorado, John D. Haven of Florida, and Stephanie Haven of New York; and many other friends and relatives who will dearly miss her.
Margaret was a well trained and gifted school teacher. Margaret earned three Master Degrees in the field of music, history and administration. She taught in Iowa and Oklahoma, and served in Colorado for over twenty years. Her talents in several subjects truly made an impact on the lives of many students over the years.
She was an excellent seamstress and loved working crossword puzzles. Margaret enjoyed music and was the church organist for many years.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Heber Springs Funeral Home, 1199 Wilburn Road, Heber Springs (501-887-9152). Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008 in the chapel of Heber Springs Funeral Home with Brother Howard Murphy officiating. Interment will be in the Cleburne County Memorial Gardens, Heber Springs following the service. Online guest book:
