GOSS, R.L. - R.L. Goss died suddenly Monday morning at his home at Avoca. He had been feeling in his usual good health the day previous but was stricken early in the morning and death occurred in an hour or so. Funeral services were held at the residence at Avoca yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Barrett of the Baptist church of Rogers. Mr. Goss was a native of Georgia where he was born Dec. 11, 1845. The family came to Avoca in 1916 from Colorado City, Texas, Mr. Goss having lived in Texas for more than 35 years where he engaged in farming most of the time. Mr. Goss is survived by his wife and 7 children: Tom Goss of Colorado City, Texas; George Goss of Fort Worth, Texas; Robt. Goss of Rochester, Texas; Mrs. Nellie Aaron, Fort Stockton, Texas; Mrs. Ollie Cole of Robert Lee, Texas; Marion Goss of Rogers and Mrs. Garland Davis of Avoca. Mr. Goss was a highly respected member of the community and Avoca has lost one of its best citizens by his death.
