ROGERS — Weldon Durwood Hall, 90, of Rogers, went to be with the Lord, Aug. 13. 2010. He is survived by his wife, Laverne; and five children; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was born July 29, 1920, in Pecan Gap, Texas. Those loved ones who went before him were his mother, Ola Myrtle Martin Humphries Hall; his birth father, William Mackie Humphries; his stepfather, Alva Burette Hall; two brothers, Martin Eugene Hall and Aubrey Wayne Hall; one sister, Mary Nell Hall; one son, Michael Lynn Hall; and one daughter-in-law, Yvonne Hall.

His five children are Jimmy Durwood Hall and his three children, Vaughn, Jeffrie and Stacey, and their eight children; Dorothy Ann Hall Zaeske and her husband, Fred, their two sons, Dennis and Damon, and their three children; Weldon Wayne Hall and his wife, Carol, their five children. Wayne, Phillip, David, Sandy and Stacy, and their children; David Patrick Hall and his wife, Edie, their daughter, Christina, and her husband, Jason, and their two children; and Rhonda Sue Hall Boldra and her husband, Larry, their three sons, Sheldon, Adam and Jeff, and their nine children.

Weldon retired from Southern Pacific Railroad and then worked 30 years for Preformed Line Products. He finally retired at the age of 80 and made great gardens that he shared freely with his friends and neighbors until his death. His other interests included his jail ministry for 60 years, the Dog and Cat Birth Control, which he formed and ran for many years. They spayed and neutered many animals. He also sponsored wrestling in Rogers and Springdale. In San Antonio he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen for many years and was a former local chairman for the BRT.

He always had a cause and worked hard at it and he loved the Lord with all his might.

Graveside services for Weldon will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Rogers City Cemetery in Rogers.

Arrangements made under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
