ELKINS — Elmer Karr, 87, of Elkins, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his home. He was born July 23, 1923, in Pettigrew, Ark., the son of George Karr and Amy Walls Karr.

He married the former Imogene Williford and served in the US. Army during World War II, having received two Bronze Service Stars. He was employed by Tune and Jack Burge Construction for many years as a supervisor. He was a member of Harris Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Lane Karr.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Karr of the home; daughter, Sharon Williams and her husband, Paul, of Elkins; two sons, Joe Karr and his wife, Judy, of Elkins, and Ronnie Karr and his wife, Tammy, of Wesley, Ark.; two sisters, Alice Martin of Pettigrew, Ark., Eunice Haskins of California; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Beard's Chapel, with the Rev. Jasper Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in McCord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Beard's Chapel today from 5 to 7 p.m.

The family requests that memorials in his name be made to: Washington Regional Friends of Hospice, P.O. Box 356, Fayetteville, AR 72702.

ELKINS — Imogene Marie Karr, 85, of Elkins died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Elkins.

She was born June 20, 1925, in Durham, Ark., the daughter of Raymond and Sadie Thompson Williford.

She was a homemaker and member of Harris Baptist Church in Elkins.

Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Karr, March 23, 2011; granddaughter, Courtney Karr, and one brother, Ray Dean Williford.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Williams and husband, Paul, of Elkins; her sons, Joe Karr and wife, Judy, of Elkins and Ronnie Karr and wife, Tammy, of Wesley; two sisters, Glennis Stout of Elkins and Jackie Hankins of Fayetteville; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Crystal Hill Family Fellowship in Elkins with Rev. Jasper Hankins and Rev. Bill Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Beard's Funeral Chapel.
