Obituary
Anna Woods Towell, age 87, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. Born in Heber Springs on July 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Woods.
A longtime resident of Heber Springs, Anna was a retired hostess at the Red Apple Inn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Chastain Matthews; one sister, Lucille Delong; and the father of their children, Leonard Towell.
Anna is survived by two sons, Lynn Towell of Heber Springs and Leonard Glenn Towell and his wife, Sue, of Benton; two brothers, K. V. Woods of Oregon and R. E. "Buck" Woods of Heber Springs; four sisters, Alice Cothren, Dorothy McClosky, Polly Poulter, and Julia Roberson, all of Heber Springs; her grandchildren, Lee Unkel and her husband, Darrel, of Wichita, Kansas, Stephen Chastain and his wife, Carla, of Rogers, Mark Chastain and his wife, Robyn, of Bismark, Kim Towell Hedden and her husband, John, and Courtney Towell Glaze and her husband, Scott, all of Benton, and Chip Blenden and his wife, Tammy, of Sherwood; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, at Olmstead Funeral Home from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, at the Heber Springs Christian Church at 2:30 p.m. with Jesse Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Heber Springs Christian Church, 1101 N. Broadway, Heber Springs, AR or the Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, AR 72022.
