Katie Valentine Stapleton, 84, a resident of Calico Rock passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the Care Manor Nursing Center.
She was born February 14, 1930, in Randolph County to the late James and Bessie (Seagraves) Weatherford. In addition to her parents Katie is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Gale Stapleton; four brothers, Utah, Jerry, David and Jackie Weatherford and four sisters, Patsy Brunner, Bernese Crisp, Tommie Thielemier and Johnnie Weatherford.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Gerald Perry of Mountain Home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Dianna Stapleton of Mountain Home; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and June Weatherford, Carl and Ida Mae Weatherford, James and Carolyn Weatherford and Wesley and Anna Weatherford; two sisters, Wilma Leathers and Ovanna Brown and three grandchildren, Craig Perry, Michael Stapleton and Kayla Miller.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2014, at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at the First Assembly of God Church in Mountain Home with Pastor Mike Howell and Pastor Terry Davis officiating. Burial will be private in the Roselawn Cemetery in Calico Rock under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
