Edythe Battles Brown of Conway went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ early Saturday morning September 13, 2014. She will be joining in heaven her loving husband, Raymond H. Brown; her parents, John and Mabel Battles; step-mother, Vallie Battles; granddaughter, Lindsey Brown and brothers in law, Jerry Hinkle and Larry Grimes.
She and her husband loved to travel and listen to western swing music. She was voted most witty of her graduating class at Guy Perkins and remained witty until her last day. She was smart, strong and quick but most of all a very loving woman. She loved deeply her three sons, daughters-in-law and granddaughters. She served as corporal in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. “Once a Marine, always a Marine” She and Raymond were married in San Diego, California and were married for 61 years. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Edythe is survived by her 3 sons, Don Brown (Vicki) of Little Rock, John Brown (Pam) of Conway, and Scott Brown (Stephanie) of Conway; two granddaughters, Chelsey Davidson (Corey), Kayleigh Brown and one great-granddaughter Abby Davidson all of Conway. She will also be missed by her sisters, Margaret Hinkle, Marie Battles, Martha Carmack (Doug), Ann Grimes, Becky Kerr (Glenn), Wanda Box (Charlie) and her brother, Tommy Battles; many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Doug Carmack, Glenn Kerr, David Tennyson, Barry Grimes, Darby Grimes, and Charlie Box.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Bro. Gary Burdin officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy, AR.

Raymond H. Brown, 82, of Conway died on Friday, November 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1931, in Harrison, AR to the late Charlie Brown and Lena (Moix) Glover. Raymond was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the University Church Of Christ in Conway. He dedicated his work life to education and training as a teacher then supervisor for Arkansas Rehabilitation Services the Department of Education and the Educational Coop at Beebe. His greatest educational gifts were to his children, grandchildren, and daughters-in-law. He and the love of his life Edythe enjoyed traveling together, western swing, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife Edythe (Battles) Brown of Conway, his 3 sons Don Brown (Vicki) of Little Rock, Johnny Brown (Pam) of Conway, and Scott Brown (Stephanie) of Conway. 2 granddaughters Chelsey Davidson (Corey), and Kayleigh Brown both of Conway. 1 great-granddaughter Abby Davidson. 2 half-sisters Charlene Blair and Jane Walker. 2 half-brothers Paul Brown and Jimmy Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Lindsey Brown, brother Kenneth Brown, and step brother Dewitt Glover.

Honorary Pallbearers: Fred Dison, Mike Mitchell, John Duke, Bill Stephens, Rodger Harlin
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2013, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Dickie Harris officiating, eulogy by Mike Morris. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy, AR.
