Nancy Holland (Hawkins) Mitchell was born in Saline County, Arkansas on Dec 3, 1855. She was the daughter of John H. Hawkins and Rachel Richards. She married Alphonso Phillip Mitchell on Mar 18, 1871 in Saline County, Arkansas. She was the mother of John Franklin, William Augustus, Alphonso Cicero, Mary Holland, Frederick and Charles Henry Mitchell. She died in Traskwood, Saline County Arkansas on Jan 19, 1889.
Her headstone is in very bad shape. It is supposed to be an off white stone but has over a hundred years of mold and moss on it and no amount of cleaning could make it any more readable than what you can see in the picture.
