ROGERS — Steven Leslie Tidwell, 54, completed a life well-lived and was called to begin a new life on Sept 18. 2010, at his home in Rogers, with his family by his side.
Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gaye Lee (Gasaway); sons, Scott and Drew; daughter-in-law, Stacy; mother, Willie Tidwell; brother, Tom; and many other family members and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Harold; and brother, Mitch.
Steve was born on Dec. 12, 1955, in Star City, Ark.; graduated high school at Dumas High School, and received bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Steve began his family while working for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Okla,. and returned to his native state in 1992 to work in the information systems division at the Walmart home offices in Bentonville. In addition to being an exemplary husband and father, Steve was a teacher at heart and served as an instructor of various college classes and coached several youth sports teams.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept, 23, 2010, at Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista.
Flowers are welcome, but memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice or, the Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the ALS Association.
