ROGERS — Sally Bevington, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to begin her next journey with her Lord on Aug. 11, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville after a short but brave battle with cancer.

Born June 30, 1939, in Huntsville, Texas, this small-town Texas girl met the love of her life, Devon James (Bev) Bevington, and they married in January 1967.

Their adventures together included living in Indonesia for nine years, Libya for six years, England for two years and finally to Rogers, Ark., in 1984.

From this loving marriage of 47 years came three adoring children, Scott Anders Bevington, wife, Aly, and sons, Drew and Ryan, of Richmond, Texas, Paige Elizabeth Ferguson, husband, Brian, and daughters, Briana, Asher and Molly, of Bentonville. Ark., and Todd Able Bevington, wife, Kristi, and son, Cooper, of Bentonville, Ark. Sally was also fortunate to have a loving cousin, Jacque Zulch of Bryan, Texas; and her brother, Eddie Anders of Kerrville, Texas. Sally was deeply loved by her entire family and all six of her grandchildren thought she hung the moon.

Sally's greatest pleasures included creating wonderful masterpieces in watercolor, lunching and shopping with her dear friends, volunteering at several organizations such as Junior Auxiliary and the Benton County Women's Shelter Thrift Store.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She spent hours leading them on adventures such as troll hunts in the backyard and other wild expeditions.

Her greatest strength was her kindness and genuine love for everyone as well as her generosity of spirit — Sally truly never met a stranger. Her love of life and sparkle came from her joy and sense of humor, and also from the sequined shoes she loved to wear.

A celebration of her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 307 W. Elm, Rogers, on Monday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10 a.m. A private ceremony will be held graveside.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church and/or the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville in thanks for the loving, respectful care she received during her stay.

Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home Bentonville.
