LOWELL — Marion Sturm, 74, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in Springdale. He was born on Aug. 9, 1934, in Pleasanton, Kan., to Glenn and Gladys Luttrell Sturm. He worked as a USDA inspector. He was a Christian and a loving father with great patience. He loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He spent many hours teaching them to drive tractors, four-wheelers and cars. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Margaret Gardner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara McGarrah Sturm, to whom he was married for 55 years; two children, Steve Sturm of Springdale and Debbie White and husband Todd of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Melania Sturm, Jessica Reed, Jennifer Sturm, Haley Lamb, Spencer Lamb, Whitney White and Landry White; three great-grandchildren, Isaac, Quinton and McKenna Reed; four sisters, Mary Lee Livesey of Grand Lake, Okla., Shirley McNames of Pineville, Mo., Janet Sutton of Vinita, Okla., and Dorothy Truittipo of Bentonville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Westfield Chapel in Springdale with the Eden family officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Home-style Assisted Living or Circle of Life Hospice.
