Obituary
William Boyd "Bill" Riner,Jr. age 86, of Heber Springs passed away peacefully on March 26 in his home. He was born in Griffithville, Arkansas, on October 15, 1920, to William Boyd Riner, Sr. and Elizabeth Walbrun Riner.

In 1942, Bill joined the U.S. Navy. He received many honors during his 27 years of service, but especially valued the Awards of Recognition for his outstanding contributions to the Polaris Missile Program. Bill retired in 1971 as Assistant to the Secretary of the U.S. Navy. Upon retirement to Heber Springs, he became active in civic affairs and served on the Water and Sewer Commission for a number of years. He was an avid golfer and past president of Thunderbird Country Club, a member of the Bass Masters Club and active in AARP. Bill was a devout Christian and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona Liles Riner; sisters, Margaret Gaines of Searcy, AR, and Mary Dodd of Nacogdoches, TX; stepchildren, James Seals and Stephanie Laundrie, and many loving extended family members. His memory is cherished by family and friends.
