Funeral services for Miss Carolyn Staten, 53, of Lafayette, La., will be held Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home, Rev.Byron McSpadden in charge, with burial to follow in Forrest City cemetery. She died Wednesday in a Lafayette nursing home. She had been critically ill for seven months. Born May 18,1915, she was the daughter of Mrs.Carrie Stewart and Eddie Lyle Staten of Forrest City. She lived in Little Rock after graduation from high school here and moved to Lafayette 20 years ago. She was a beautician and a Methodist. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs.Louise Newman of Memphis and Miss Virginia Staten of Lafayette; two brothers, Frank Staten of Helena, and Edward Staten of Pine Bluff; and her stepmother, Mrs.Artie Staten of Forrest City.
