Air National Guard
May 8, 1944 - May 30, 2009
Philip Ray Young, of Greenwood, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2009 in a local hospital. He was 60 years, and 22 days old. Mr. Young was born on May 8, 1944, to Lloyd & Virginia Young. He was a member of the Air National Guard, co-owned/operated Comfort Coil Corporation of Muldrow, OK and was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazerene.
Mr. Young was preceeded in death by his mother: Virginia Young and his sister: Sharon Edwards, both of Fort Smith.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 42 years: Judy Young, of the home; one daughter and son in law: Stacy & Michael Johnson, of Greenwood and the light of his life, his grandson: Tatum Johnson of Greenwood; his father, Lloyd Young of Fort Smith; one sister: Gail Pyle and husband Johnny of Greenwood; one brother: Gary Young and wife Jana of Alma; 4 nephews: Kevin Edwards, Bryan Edwards, Brandon Young, Nicholas Young and 3 nieces: Rhondine Horton, Robbin Bowling and Marcel Brown.
Funeral services were held at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the Barling Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home,
Pallbearers were his nephews:Kevin Edwards, Brandon Young, Nicholas Young and his friends: Paul David Goldsmith, Willie Solesbee and Shannon Gilliaum.
Honorary Pallbearers were:HB Stewart, Charlie Dial, Gary Means, Don Young, David Young, Bill Ginger and James Edwards..
