Raymond Lavern Lawson, 87, of Bald Knob, died Friday, January 24, 2014 in Little Rock. He was born January 7, 1927 in Bald Knob to the late George and Neva Root Lawson. Mr. Lawson was an Army veteran, he worked in the agriculture business and was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 16 glorious years, Charlene Strawder Lawson; his children, Dale Lawson of Bald Knob, Gary Lawson of Searcy, and LaDonna Thompson of Bald Knob; his step-sons, Johnnie Burrow of Bald Knob and William Burrow of Judsonia; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Lawson; his first wife, Gearldean Burns Lawson.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
