Feb 11, 2005 - Apr 15, 2011
Devon Silas Adams, age 6, of Bald Knob, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 15, 2011. Devon was born Feb. 11, 2005 in Little Rock and arrived a month early weighing only three pounds. He was described as a "little fighter", never requiring a ventilator. He was a happy, outgoing and very smart kindergartener at the H.L. Lubker Elementary School in Bald Knob and was in Mrs. Horton's class. He really loved playing his video games, especially "Last Air Bender", which he had beaten several times. His favorite toy was his "Battlegon" and he enjoyed it so much his dad said he wanted to put it away and preserve it forever. Devon never met a stranger and his mother had to regularly caution him about being so outgoing and talking to strangers. He most of all loved his little sister and helping care for her. He was an excellent big brother, and was always looking for ways to help with her. He was also very excited about meeting his big brother, Zachary, for the first time this May. Although his time here on Earth was brief, Devon had an incredible impact on many people. He will be missed. He is survived by his parents, Floyd and Amanda Adams; a sister, Amarie Ashlyn Adams of the home; a big brother, Zachary Tyler Adams of California; grandparents, David and Evelyn Smith of Searcy, Floyd and Lisa Adams of Tuckerman and Mary Linda Adams of Searcy; great-grandparents, Rosie Barker of Searcy and Mary Turney of Russell as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5–8 p.m. A celebration of Devon's life will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Bro. Scotty Burrow officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. Online condolences can be left for the family at - www.powellfuneralhome.net.
