Ralph Jaro, 87, of Springdale went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at his home. He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Bourbon County, Kan., to Eddie Lucas and Mary Elizabeth Beckford Jaro. He moved back to the area in 1946 after some time in San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Jaro was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He retired in 1978 from Safeway where he was a meat market manager. Mr. Jaro enjoyed fishing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred L. Cooper Jaro; a son-in-law, Charles Thompson; a great-grandson, Kyler Thompson; and four sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Pat Thompson of Springdale; a brother, Allen Jaro of Oklahoma City; a sister, Mary Ann Hammons of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Patty Hatfield and husband David, Jeff Thompson and wife Kaysha and Steve Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Jamie Maestri and husband Dustin, Jennifer Jester and husband Brad, Whitney Thompson and Kourtney Thompson; and four great-great-grandchildren, Katelyn Maestri, Madelyn Maestri, Grant Maestri and Tatum Jester, all of Springdale.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Stanton Cram and the Rev. Jack Anglin officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Bearers will be David Hatfield, Brad Jester, Dustin Maestri, Jeff Thompson, Russell Thompson and Steve Thompson.

Honorary bearers will be LeRoy Ames, Jimmy Blakemore, Grant Maestri, Bobby Perryman, Harold Perryman, Jarvis Teague, Greg Treat, John Thompson and Kyler Thompson.

The family requests memorial contributions to Circle of Life Hospice, 610 E. Emma Ave., Springdale, 72764, or to Elderchoice, Department of Human Services, Attention: Carolyn Wheeler, P.O. Box 493, Fayetteville, 72701.
