Bruce Milton McMinn was born near Longansport, Indiana, October 8 and departed this life February 8, 1915 at his home near Huntsville, Arkansas, aged 63 years and four months. Mr. McMinn when as a child of five he went with his parents to Wisconsin and thence in 18__ to Greenfield and Golden City, Missouri. There he was united in marriage to Miss Lurisa Hankum in 1884. After residing near Maryville, Missouri, and at Roseville, New Mexico, came to this country in 1901. He leaves three sons, the oldest, Omer, is in government service in the Philippine Islands. The other two, Herbert and Bruce, Jr., are present today. Mrs. McMinn preceded her husband to the better land by some two years. Mr. McMinn was the elder in Presbyterian Church but preferred to give himself to such humble influence as he could on his own local rural community. His efforts as stated to friends during his last illness, were to let his influence, however slight be on the side of peace, education, neighborliness, honest dealings and Christianity. His sole trust for the future was to use his own words in his Divine Redeemer, ever mindful that the children of men arrive and pass out of the world like blades of grass. No one could have passed more gently down to the river bank of the "Valley of the Shadow". It was like a peaceful summer sunset. His end was peace in hope of a blessed immortality
