HARTLEY, Cinthia GILKISON - Cinthia Gilkison was born Oct. 13, 1842 at Sullivan, Ind. She was the daughter of James and Martha Gilkison, formerly of Rogers and now resting in the Rogers cemetery. Her parents moved to Terre Haute, Ind. in 1866 and in April 1867 she was married to James D. Hartley. Mr. and Mrs. Hartley lived together 51 years and eight months. Her health was never good but she was an unusually patient sufferer, always thinking of loved ones' and friends' comforts before her own. They had lived in Rogers in its early days and returned about 16 years ago to spend their last years and be laid to rest in her favorite resting place, where she has many friends who have gone on before. She had been a member of the First M.E. church since childhood. She leaves her husband and one sister, Mrs. Willis Miller, and three brothers and a host of friends.
