Obituary
Helen Mathis Coile, 77 of Rogers, formerly of Eureka Springs, died March 4 in Rogers. She was born Feb 18, 1909 in Guthrie, Okla., a daughter of Charlie and Nettie (Mrgan) Belt.
For 17 years Mrs. Coile was head chef at McConnell Air Force base in Wichita, Kan. She later owned and operated the Mathis Cafe in Eureka, She was also a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Beaver.
She is survived by one son'; Charles Mathis of Florence, Ore.; on daughter: Lee Fancher of Carr Lane, Mo.; two brothers, Albert Gamble of Anacortes, Wash., and Dave Gamble of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Ada Capps, Eureka Springs, seven gradchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Don Mathis and one brother, Merle Belt.
Funeral services were March 6 at Nelson Chapel in Eureka Springs with the Rev. John D Birchfield offciating. Interment was in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
