Elizabeth M. Ruth, 92, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, in Fort Smith. She was the eldest daughter of the late John and Bertha Stovall of Scranton. She was a retired custom drapery maker and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Doris Whalen and husband Ken of Fort Smith; one son, Roger Ruth and his wife, Debbie of Fort Smith; five sisters, Rubylene Johnson of Scranton, Evelyn Stills of Scranton, Henerietta Scott of Bloomer, Onella Criswell of Barling and Hetty Sanders of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers, John Stovall Jr. of Scranton, Aaron Stovall of Ava, Mo., and James Stovall of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bryant E. Ruth; and a son, Bobby G. Ruth.Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Barling City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Jimmy, Shannon and Randy Ruth, Jon Schumacher, Tyler and Taylor Shibley, and Michael Shores. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Shibley and Sonny Hazel.
