Dorothy Evelyn Barylske, 87, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Born in Cotton Plant, Dorothy lived in Granite City, Illinois, 40 years before moving to Jonesboro 21 years ago. She worked at McDonnell-Douglas Corporation in St. Louis before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Hostmeyer, her parents: Samuel and Delma Starr King, and her brother, Wilburn King.

Survivors include 4 daughters: Karol Cathey of Dover, Tennessee, Karla Terry of St. Louis, Missouri, and Susan Williams and Anna Barylske, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

4 Sons: Terry Avants and Leland (Janis) Avants, both of Granite City, Illinois, Stanley (Cathy) Barylske of Benld, Illinois, and Benjamin (Bobbi) Barylske of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Burial will follow in Cotton Plant Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: grandsons Patrick, Matthew, Randy, Phil, Trevor and family friend Roger.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in Emerson Chapel.
