Deputy Bobby Nearns, 57, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Connell’s Point, Arkansas. Bobby was born March 25, 1956 at Helena, Arkansas to the late Robert Newton Nearns and the late Pauline “Polly” Camp Nearns. Bobby served his community as a deputy sheriff for the Phillips County Sheriff Department.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Johns Nearns; three sons, Bobby Nearns, Jr. (Jennifer) of Marvell, Arkansas, Lance Nearns of Bakersfield, California, and Sean Milligan of Marshall, Texas; two daughters, Valerie Bennett (David) of West Helena and Stacy Copeland (William) of Lexa, Arkansas; three stepsons, Scotty, Justin and Brandon Higgins of Rogers, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren; two sisters, Sheila Smith (Stafford) of Lexa and Rhonda Alexander of Florida; two brothers, Jerry Nearns (Phyllis) and Ronnie Nearns all of West Memphis, Arkansas; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Johns.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Allyssa Bennett.

Services for Deputy Bobby Nearns will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at United Pentecostal Church at West Helena. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park at West Helena. Reverend Kenneth Harman will officiate.
