James "Scooter" O. Gabbie
August 16, 1939 - April 28, 2014
James O. “Scooter” Gabbie, age 74, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home. Mr. Gabbie was born August 16, 1939 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late James W. Gabbie and the late Vera Barrett Gabbie. He was a member of West Helena Baptist Church and he retired as Agency Manager of Phillips County Farm Bureau, where he served with the company for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glenda Baker Gabbie; two sons, Mark O. Gabbie (Shelley) of Texarkana, Texas and Steven W. Gabbie (Kim) of Aubrey, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Russell Baker.
A graveside service for Scooter Gabbie will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at West Helena Baptist Church. Dr. Sonny Tucker will officiate.
Memorials may be made to West Helena Baptist Church.
