Vicki Mae Weindel, 51, of Fort Smith died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1961, in Mountain View. She was 1979 valedictorian of Jacksonville High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a bachelor of science in forestry, worked the Forest Service, was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, was treasurer, secretary and in public relations with Greenwood School District PTO, Bulldog Breakout treasurer, co-director and secretary of the Booster Club and a member of the MOMS club.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Greenwood with 3 p.m. burial at Pordue Cemetery near Onia under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Shane and Heath Weindel, both of Fort Smith; her father, Bill Morrison of Jacksonville; and a sister, Pam Carter of Cabot.
Pallbearers will be Bo and Blake Carter, Steve Long, Walker Cox, Daniel Fritsche and Brian Weindel.
Memorials may be made to the Boys Scouts of America Troop No. 54 of Greenwood, C/O of Rod Powell, 327 Duke Circle, Greenwood, AR 72936.
