Paul Henry Schaffer, 70, of Ozark, Arkansas died Monday, June 9, 2014, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a retired lineman and foreman for Arkansas Valley Electric Co-Op.; and he was a Franklin County Justice of the Peace; and a former Jaycee member. He was born April 18, 1944 in Ozark to Carl and Roxie Scholfield Schaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, Johnny, Frank, and Richard Schaffer; and a sister, Bea Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Sitz Schaffer of Ozark; daughters Stephanie Jo Thomas and husband Brent of Emporia, Kansas; Veronica Louise Lewis and husband Brad of Fort Smith, Arkansas; John Reed Fisk and wife Sonjia of Ozark; two sisters, Elizabeth Trotter of Ozark and Alice Vandenberg of Altus, Arkansas; two brothers, William "Billy" Schaffer of Ozark, and Sam Schaffer of Belleville, AR; four grandchildren: Allie and Nicholas Thomas and Braden and Venesa Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home, 231 West Commercial in Ozark with burial in Highland Cemetery.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel. Casual dress and overalls are preferred.
Serving as pallbearers are Ben Schaffer, Steve Holt, Leo Aich, Bobby Qualls, Michael Howard and Cody Hice. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Powell, Jay Logan, Basil Koch, Leo Anhalt, Kenneth Hice, Lee Gilmer, Andy Schaffer and Nathanial Lem.
