Marvelle Ruby Jones, 91, died Aug. 15, 2014 at the Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron, MO. She was born Aug. 24, 1922 in Bennett, NE to Thelma (Hevalone) Maker and Verni Bodfield. Marvelle married Floyd Jones on March 21, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA where they lived until 1949 when they moved to Calico Rock, AR. They also lived in Kansas City, MO and later retired in Horseshoe Bend, AR. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend where she enjoyed her church family and all the fellowship and activities. She also enjoyed the senior citizen dances and golf until her health failed. Marvelle is survived by four daughters: Donna Lappin of Jacksonville, FL; Karol and E.W. Fountain of Cameron, MO; Karen and Jim Toadvine of Elkhart, KS; Billie and Bob Houser of Olive Branch, MS and Loy and Earl Orwig, a lifelong friend of the daughters who call her their sister.; grandchildren: Scott (Pilar) Brady of Houston, TX; Lee Ann (Charles) Luna of Grain Valley, MO; Annette (Scott) Klososky of Edmond OK; Patti (Kevin) Foy of Atlantic Beach, FL; Joseph Lappin of Jacksonville; Eric (Abbey) Fountain of Kansas City MO; Bobbie Houser and Graham Orwig both of Olive Branch, MS; and great grandchildren: Ashleigh Luna, Nick Luna, Timmy Lappin and Kristin White, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Frances and Fred Bodfield; three sisters, Norma Miller, Mae Marrucci and Lois Arnovick; and two sons-in-law, Edward Brady and Joseph Lappin.
Funeral services are Thursday, Aug. 21, at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home Chapel in Calico Rock, AR Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Pineville AR Cemetery.
