Springdale, Jan. 7-(Special)- Funeral services for James Monroe Davis, 86, who died at his home here Saturday, were conducted Monday at Pilgrim Rest by the Rev. George Bean. Burial was in the Joyce cemetery. He was a native of Sonora.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Davis; one daughter, Mrs. Claude James of Springdale; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Springdale, Oct. 4 - Mrs. Mary J. Davis, 69, died early today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora James, east of Springdale. Mrs. Davis was born in Washington county, April 25, 1872, the daughter of Mary Cannon and John Davis.
Her husband, James Monroe Davis, and two daughters, Mrs. James and Miss Jodie Davis of Springdale, survive with one brother, G.L. Davis of Los Angeles and a sister, Mrs. Billy Darnell of Siloam, Colo. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Pilgrims Rest Monday at 2 p.m. by Rev. George Bean, with burial in Joyce Cemetery. Callison-Riggs Funeral Home will be in charge.
