Husband of Fay McDonald
James O. McDonald was a son of Serene Witzy McDonald. He married Fay Morris on June 5, 1937 in Greenwood, Sebastian, Arkansas.
James O. McDonald, 80, of Pocola, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, in Fayetteville. He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist minister. he was a member of Tucker Baptist Church in Tucker, Okla., where he
pastored until 1998. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II and was the widower of Fay McDonald.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Barling City Cemetery in Barling.
He is survived by six daughters, Helen Louise Renot of St. Louis, Zona Ruth Hall, Phyllis June Van Camp and Becky Jean Hampton, all of Fort Smith, Pamela Jean Watts of Cabot and Rita Jo Dillard of Sugar Loaf; a son, Othal of Pocola; five sisters, Alta Applebee and Hazel Wright, both of Oregon, Janell Capehart of Albuquerque, N.M., Eva Mae Lovell of Spiro, Okla., and Sharon Thomas of Stigler,
Okla.; four brothers, S.W. of Oregon, Earl of Yuma, Ariz., Bob of Tulsa and Bill of Tucker; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George A. Davis, Aaron and Jimmy Pipkins, Homer Morris, Cotton Nemeth and Paul Pitsco.
