Travis James West, age 28, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was born January 11, 1982 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was an Army Reserve Veteran, a heavy equipment operator, and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his son, William Joseph West of Lebanon, Missouri; parents, Leon and Patricia Waller Gardner of Springfield; great-grandmother, Alice Nelson of Chicago; three brothers, Mark McVey of Springfield, William Franklin Newberg of Oregon, and Robert Franklin of Killean, Texas; two sisters, Marcia Van Hemerg of Newton, Iowa and Tylene Davis of Killean, Texas; stepbrother, David Paul Gardner of Clinton; step-sister, Tracy Rae Grinder of St. Joe.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, at the Harris Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Springfield Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
