Ernest Gene “Turtle” Lindley, 62, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his home. Mr. Lindley was born August 27, 1946 to the late Ernest Herbert and Annie Griffin Lindley in Bruce, Mississippi.
Mr. Lindley is survived by 1 sister, Dianne Groves and husband Larry of Helena, Arkansas; niece, Renee Stingley and husband Nixon of Helena; nephew, Jason White of West Helena; and 2 great-nephews, Nicholas and Preston Stingley of Helena.
Services for Mr. Lindley will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. The Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Roller- Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
Pallbearers are Jody Gschwend, Johnny Martin, James Southern, Oscar Heard, Mike Wages, Mack Martin, J.W. Lindley and Nicholas Stingley.
Donations may be made in memory of Ernest Gene Lindley to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
